How we started

SDSG in Singapore humbly began as ‘After Works Drinks’ in 2013. What began as an informal evening get-together of the design community in our cosy studio soon blossomed into a series of eventful sessions of sharings by designers from all over the world with a multitude of experiences. Not forgetting the informal conversations that we still had over drinks.

In 2019 we morphed ‘After Works Drinks’ into ‘Service Design Drinks’ to bring more focus to our conversations and community. And in 2020, we expanded by making SDD trans-continental with our collaboration with SDD Tokyo and SDD Frankfurt for the Reset- Post-Covid event.

Meet the SDSG Team

  • Nav Qirti

    Co-founder, Service Design Singapore

  • Brenda Tang

    Exco member

Brenda is a UX researcher and program manager who is excited about building a more compassionate society.

She loves learning about why the world is the way it is, the highs and lows of human nature, and what we can do reduce suffering.

  • Sharon Tan

    Exco member

A curious soul with over 15 years championing learning and innovation in the public sector, Sharon believes that best solutions emerge when we truly understand the people we serve.

Something fun about her: find Sharon hunting for blind boxes or making jazzy attempts with her saxophone.

  • Rachel Cheang

    Exco member

Rachel thrives on bringing people together to tackle big, messy challenges, making even the most complex topics feel human and hopeful.

On weekends, she’s in the forest as a Forest School coach, finding magic in hidden trails and the occasional curious bug with little ones.

  • Amanda Low

    Exco member

Amanda is currently a health systems and service researcher. Her experience spans academia, community building, collaborative philanthropy, and design.

At the heart of her approach is her training as an anthropologist - to see the humanness and connectedness around her and channel it in ways to imagine and create better for people.

Fun fact: her life revolves around community and surfing—everything else fits around them.

  • Evonne Quek

    Exco member

Evonne is a facilitator who has shaped service design across diverse domains — from aviation (at both the best and the busiest airports) to design consulting. By day, she runs programs that help people apply service design to untangle complex systems.

At night you can find her crying over the papers she has to write for her post-grad in Adult Learning.

  • Gabriel Tan

    Exco member

Gabriel heads the Service Design Co-Lab and the Specialist Diploma in Service Experience Design & Innovation at Nanyang Polytechnic, guiding students, professionals, and organisations to apply service design tools meaningfully. With 10+ years in Spatial, Branding, and UX design, he brings a rich, multidisciplinary perspective.

Fun fact: he hunts flea markets for vintage watches and Batman memorabilia—fuel for his creativity and, hopefully, his retirement.

  • Zhiting Goh

    Exco member

Zhiting goes goo goo gaga over anything psychology, tech and brain.

She loves travelling and discovering less known places in the world. She is always on the lookout for outstanding DJ transitions!

  • Kartika Kosasih

    Exco member

Kartika is an experienced product and service designer with expertise honed across diverse sectors including FinTech, GovTech, FMCG, SaaS, and Property. As a consultant, she specialised in rapidly transforming complex B2B and B2C challenges into simple, intuitive user experiences, consistently delivering impact.

Fun fact: She is a freediver, marine biology, and travel enthusiast. The world is her oyster, and she's continuously in search of the best spots to make friends with fish and coral.

  • Ailin Bikmaeva

    Exco member

Ailin is an aspiring UX designer with a background in marketing and mass media, interested in creating products that are genuinely useful to people.

You might catch her trying to repeat MRT announcements in every language (still struggling with Tamil). New to Singapore, she loves exploring different cultures and dreams of mastering Mandarin one day.
